Because I came of age in the 1990s, I got to grow up alongside Lisa. I aspired to be a feminist, like Lisa, even before I knew what a feminist was. And even though I was never musically inclined, she made me—and millions of other little girls—want to play the saxophone. I may have moved beyond eight years old, but thankfully, Lisa has stayed the same.

6. Det. Olivia Benson—Played by Mariska Hargitay on NBC’s Law and Order: Special Victims Unit
This feisty, strong-willed, compassionate cop in the Special Victims Unit fights each day to overcome her extremely difficult childhood—she was the child of a rape and her mother was an abusive alcoholic—yet uses her pain to empathize with the sex crimes victims she fights to help. Mariska Hargitay embodies this inspirational cop perfectly. Olivia’s painful past also fuels her dedication to capturing criminals. She not only inspires me to be more caring toward others, but empowers me to be dedicated to my work, just as she is.

7. Liz Lemon—Played by Tina Fey on NBC’s 30 Rock
Tina Fey was the first-ever female head writer on Saturday Night Live, so it’s clear where she got the inspiration for her character, Liz Lemon, on the sitcom “30 Rock.” Like Fey, Lemon is the head writer for a comedy-sketch show. She’s also the straight woman to a host of eccentric characters, from Tracy Morgan as the histrionic new star of the show, to Alec Baldwin as the pompous network executive who tries to boss her around. It’s refreshing to see a woman in her thirties on TV who is single but not obsessed with finding a man. She’s working at her dream job and involved in her friends’ lives without forgetting about her own. If only I could say the same for myself.

8. Grace Hanadarko—Played by Holly Hunter on TNT’s Saving Grace
You have to admire a woman who manages (barely) to balance her personal demons (drinking, promiscuity) with a strong sense of justice. Grace Hanadarko, brilliantly played by Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter, is an Oklahoma City police detective who lives her life so on the edge that she is visited by a most atypical, scruffy angel named Earl (Leon Rippy), who hopes to save her from herself. Her lifestyle sure would not work for me, but her commitment to justice and the obvious love she has for her nephews and nieces make her an empowering woman to be reckoned with.

9. Barbara Dutton Henrickson—Played by Jeanne Tripplehorn on HBO’s Big LoveBeing the first wife in a polygamous Mormon family has never been easy for Barbara Dutton Henrickson, but she takes a controversial situation and tries to make it work for everyone. In Big Love, Barb (the fabulous Jeanne Tripplehorn) wears many hats as a wife who was her husband’s sole mate for ten years before agreeing to his taking on additional wives for a stronger family. She yearns for a higher profile in the community and has her own struggles with living in a big, joint family, but ultimately she believes in her faith and is willing to share her husband, in hopes of creating a solid, if nontraditional, family unit. I wouldn’t want to be in a polygamous situation myself, but I admire her commitment to her family--her entire family.

10. Brenda Leigh Johnson—Played by Kyra Sedgwick on TNT’s The Closer
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more fascinating, powerful female character on television today then Deputy Police Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, a former Atlanta detective brought to Los Angles to crack high-profile cases. Kyra Sedgwick embodies Brenda perfectly, with a southern charm that masks a razor-sharp intellect and uncanny ability to reveal suspects’ secrets and obtain confessions. Don’t mess with Brenda. She will lock horns with anyone who gets in the way of her pursuit of justice. And sometimes she’s so bull-headed that it ends up jeopardizing her own investigations. But that’s what makes Brenda so human and so good at what she does.

Everyone is familiar with Batman, Superman, and Spider-Man. But what about the hundreds of other heroes in comic books? Let's learn about a few and why it would bankrupt any movie studio that tries making a movie out of them.

5. AztekAs a Mexican superhero, the first half hour of the movie would consist of Aztek paying a coyote to get him to California so he can "fight some crime, holmes." Aztek De La Raza was created by Grant Morrison and Mark Millar either on a dare or as payment for some landscape work. Aztek, the champion of the god Quetzalcoatl -- who must fight his nemesis god Tezcatlipoca in the "Toughest Shit to Pronounce World Series" (We're guessing taking place over at Eyjafjallajökull) -- comes complete with incredible powers like flight, x-ray vision, super speed, invisibility, super strength, and in what makes him truly overpowering, the ability to not have to wait two months to receive a mail-in rebate check. We think.

Even though he has all the cool powers that guy with the Stallone-lip had in Heroes, there's just something unwatchable about having a Hollywood film featuring everyone's favorite unknown hero who took the job of some perfectly capable American superhero. And it's not the difficulty casting a Mexican, because they'll just get some white guy.

4. Captain CarrotA jackrabbit, or in this case a jacked rabbit, capable of super strength, enhanced vision, super stamina, super hearing, and who can, wait for it, jump really far. We need a new form of mathematics to compute the amount of narcotics consumed by the creators of this comic. Captain Carrot is the leader of his team, Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew, which consists of colorful folks like Alley-Kat-Abra, Pig-Iron, and Yankee Poodle. He's a mild-mannered regular bunny, but when he eats his "cosmic carrot" he is imbued with super powers. The effect wears off after a period of time which is why he keeps two carrots holstered on his costume and maintains a grow house.

We don't think you need us to tell you why this wouldn't work out. A movie with a bunny superhero is definitely catered to children, and the last thing we need is the advocacy of performance enhancing drugs at such a young age. We mean, what, do we want baseball to be entertaining? We wouldn't want to live in a world like that.

3. JerichoOriginally written as a homosexual, this wide-eyed, sensitive, and artistic superhero has the ability to take mental control of someone's body's motor responses when making eye contact with them, AKA "boring the shit out of viewers and giving negative critics such a raging hate-boner it'll crash RottenTomatoes.com." He's one of the Teen Titans, which is a superhero team made up of crap no one outside of prisoners whose common area television is stuck on the CW would watch.

Casting this wouldn't be too tough, because Tom Cruise has always wanted to play an ambiguously gay superhero. Sure, Jericho looks a bit like the result of a lab experiment mixing Siegfried and Roy's DNA with an Old Navy tech vest, but if Hollywood make-up artists are good enough to make Mr. Cruise look tall and imposing in everything he's ever done, surely they can make him look like Jericho. The problem isn't the casting, it's just that no one wants to watch some guy controlling people like puppets for 90 minutes. Imagine replaying that *NSYNC video more than once.

2. MaggottHailing from South Africa, Maggott's primary superpower was having two slugs for a digestive system. That's correct. The slugs were named Eany and Meany, and they digested any solid matter for him, and their poop gave him super strength, stamina, sturdiness, and turned his skin blue. In addition to that, he could look at anything around him and visualize what events occurred or will occur in the surrounding area. That sounds pretty cool, but nothing takes away the weirdness of the slug thing. And he named them? What the fuck, dude.

This wouldn't work for two reasons. First, these days only Will Smith can portray a black superhero and make the movie profitable. His response to the slug idea would be his trademark, "aw hell naw." I suppose Martin Lawrence can do it, but there's a distinct lack of a fat suit and a dress so his involvement is tentative at best. Second, ew.

1. The QuestionLet us explain to you what kind of superhero the Question is. He's smart, a good detective, and a good martial artist. Does that sound familiar to you? That's right, he's just like Batman! Except, you know, he's not a super rich billionaire so he can't afford all the gadgets that make Batman the hero he is. Remember Batman Begins? How about The Dark Knight? Right, remember all those scenes where Batman did cool stuff that, without his advanced Wayne Industries gear, would've produced newspaper headlines titled "fucking moron in a cape gets stabbed in an alley by a crackhead"? The concept of a superhero without any super powers only really works when he's loaded.

If this movie were made it would be a short film about some idiot getting himself killed by asking too many questions. The only way it would last longer than 47 seconds is if it's about Julian Assange, and we all know how exciting that turned out to be.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn atau dikenal "DSK" (lahir di Neuilly-sur-Seine, Paris, Perancis, 25 April 1949; umur 62 tahun) adalah ekonom, pengacara, dan politikus asal Perancis serta anggota Partai Sosialis. Ia berasal dari etnis Yahudi Sephardic dan Ashkenazic. Periode 1951-1960, dia tinggal di Agadir, Maroko. Setelah terjadi gempa bumi di Maroko, ia pindah ke Monako pada tahun 1960.
Ia kembali ke Paris dan masuk SMA hingga meraih gelar Ph.D dalam ilmu ekonomi dan hukum dari Universiti Paris X (Nanterre). Selain bergabung dengan Persatuan Pelajar Komunis, dia juga bergabung dengan Pusat Studi dan Riset Pendidikan Sosialis (CERES). Periode 1977-1982, ia mengajar mikroekonomi dan makroekonomi di University of Nancy-II (1977-1980), Ecole nationale d'administration (ENA), dan meraih gelar guru besar ekonomi di Sciences-Po.
Ia mendapatkan gelar Doktor di bidang Ekonomi dari Universitas Paris dan kemudian bekerja sebagai asisten profesor di universitas tersebut. Di tahun 1978, Universitas Paris menjadikannya Professor dengan tenure.

Ia ditahan setelah hakim pengadilan Kota Nwe York, Melissa C Jackson menolak permohonan bebas dengan jaminan yang disodorkan tim kuasa hukumnya. Tim kuasa hukum yang juga menawarkan agar pengadilan menahan semua dokumen kliennya juga ditolak.

When one thinks of prisons and prison life, thoughts often drift to depictions found in Oz or the Wire: full of hard living and sexual, physical, and emotional abuse. However, there is one prison is Norway that has been called the most humane in the world: Halden Prison.

Halden Prison opened early in 2010 with a capacity of 252 prisoners. The prisoner cells include flat-screen televisions, which officials say are necessary so that prisoners have less room for drugs and contraband. Designer furniture, mini-fridges, and en suite bathrooms complete the prison cells.

Half of the guards are females, and guns are not usually carried because they create “unnecessary intimidation and social distance.” During the day, inmates can shoot hoops, climb the indoor rock wall, go jogging or make use of the soccer field. The philosophy behind this is that an occupied prisoner is less a violent prisoner, and thus is less likely to lash out at guards or other inmates.

Though the statistics are calculated differently in each country, only 20% of Norwegian prisoners return to jail within 2 years, compared to 50-60% in the US. Prisoner governor Are Hoidal was quoted as saying, “In the Norwegian prison system, there’s a focus on human rights and respect. We don’t see any of this as unusual.” The Norwegian prison system, and Halden Prison in particular, have been in the spotlight recently due to the incarceration of Norwegian terrorist Behring Breivik.

Synopsis :

The basic story and characters here are based somewhat in fact, and there's no reason why one shouldn't be able to play with the story to make for an enhanced entertainment experience. With GOEMON, however, he have a cgi-intensive adventure geared to be more interesting to a younger audience. Heroes leap across rooftops, perform the usual effortless swordplay, or live in an opulent Japan more fanciful than most science fictions.

That said, GOEMON is written with artful economy, compressing the action into a time-frame that's continually entertaining. Everything else about this film is considerably less than economical - the fabulous crowd scenes, the vignettes of old Japan with bustling streets packed with characters, the endless supply of snappy effects...Taken uncritically, this film has a "wow" factor that's not easy to shake off; but when you begin to ask the most basic questions, GOEMON begins to fall apart.

As a fantasy divorced of historical context, there's a lot to enjoy here. As a credible drama, there's too much that's wanting.

Michael Arias, better known for his work in the animation and digital domain on such features such as Tekkonkinkreet, Princess Mononoke and The Animatrix; lends his hand to directing a live action, Japanese film that’s actually a remake of a German comedy/drama from 1997.

Okay, confusion out of the way – we can begin…

Tomoya Nagase (My Boss, My Hero) plays Masato Aoyama, a life-long part-timer with no ambition. After a string of blinding migraine attacks he seeks medical advice only to be told his has an inoperable brain tumor. After being hospitalised he meets Harumi Shiraishi played by Mayuko Fukuda. She has also been diagnosed with a terminal disease and they bond almost immediately.

The film then turns into a road movie as they drink too much tequila, steal a Maserati, rob a post office and in a last ditch attempt to fulfil their dreams – head for the beach.

Heavens Door

The lead characters plight is hampered all the way by a vicious man trying to get his hands on his Maserati (and the contents therein) and the Police Chief in charge of their capture. What starts out to be a joy-ride to the ocean escalates into a desperate attempt to make dreams come true.

With a superb screenplay by Mika Omori (My Boss My Hero, Detroit Metal City) [developed from an original story by Thomas Jahn, subsequently developed into a screenplay by Til Schweiger for the original German film], stunning photography, outstanding lighting and a soundtrack that is so subtle but massive supplied by the Electronic Virtuoso’s Plaid – the film takes a bleak theme and turns it into something beautiful and compelling.

Yuki Amami plays Maya Akutsu, a sixth-grade teacher who dresses all in black and is repeatedly referred to as "oni sensei" (the teacher from hell), when, in fact, she seems to be an ultrarealist at heart. The drama focuses on a year in her classroom and, particularly, the effect it has on 12-year-old Kazumi--a nice but mediocre student whose parents want to send her to a private secondary school.

Akutsu-sensei accomplished this feat by introducing a test-based rank and privilege system on the first day. The highest scorers on the Monday morning test get their choice of seats and other perks while the two lowest scorers are burdened with all the chores for the week from blackboard and toilet cleaning to serving lunch. The system also disallows toilet breaks during class because this reflects an inability to manage one's own schedule.

Kazumi gets the first week's work assignment along with the class clown, a warmhearted boy who is not nearly as silly as he acts. The child actors in the series are all likeable pros who give realistic portrayals of the wide spectrum of an average classroom from the isolated serious students to the sophisticated girls who think they already know what life is all about. Akutsu-sensei lets them know immediately that they do not have a clue.

When the students protest her system and call it unfair, she tells them to open their eyes. In Japanese society, she lectures, those who work hard or have influence get all the privileges, and the lazy or less affluent end up with the leftovers. She says only six in 100 people can expect to be happy and the elite already have most of the advantages and access to the best medical care. She tells them that, as products of the public school system, they will have to scramble to get anything at all, and most of them will end up as "bonjin" (ordinary people), to whom those on the top will be happy to leave the soldiering and service-sector jobs.

Ten years ago, an inscrutable and abnormal territory known as Hell's Gate appeared in Tokyo, altering the sky and wreaking havoc on the landscape. The real stars disappeared, replaced by false stars. During this time, people possessing various special abilities emerged, each capable of different supernatural feats - these are known as Contractors. Each fake star has a corresponding Contractor, which reacts to their activities. As such, Contractors are usually identified by their star's Messier catalogue number. Kept secret from the masses, these individuals are known to murder in cold blood, smothering unnecessary emotions with logic and rationale. Their incredible abilities, however, are gained at the cost of their humanity - Contractors are thus named because of an involuntary compulsion to "pay the price" each time their power is used, which can range from eating particular foods and completing meaningless tasks, to self-harm and having their bodies change in peculiar ways. Various nations and organizations around the world train and utilize Contractors as spies and assassins, resulting in violent battles for valuable objects and information.

School Days

In School Days, there are twenty-one possible endings for the player to experience. There are fifteen good endings where the main character ends up with one of the obtainable heroines in the game. Of these endings, seven good endings are devoted to Kotonoha, five are given to Sekai, two are for Hikari, and one is with Otome. Of the other six endings, two are harem endings where the main character ends up with multiple girls. In one of these two, Sekai and Kotonoha both get together with Makoto, and in the other, Makoto has sex with various girls almost every day. There is one ending in the game which is only made available when certain conditions are met for one of Kotonoha's or Sekai's good endings entitled "Carnal Desire" (Kotonoha) and "Bavarois" (Sekai) where Makoto ends up getting Setsuna pregnant.
The final three endings featured in the game are the three bad endings which involve the death of one of the three main characters (either Makoto, Sekai, or Kotonoha) in violent circumstances. In one of these endings, Kotonoha kills Sekai in broad daylight with a saw to the neck; in another, Sekai stabs Makoto for leaving her for Kotonoha; and in the last bad end, Kotonoha kills herself by jumping off Makoto's apartment building after he chooses Sekai.
The PlayStation 2 version of School Days features five new endings, all of which involve the death of one of the main characters. Four of these endings involve a single death each where Makoto dies in one, Kotonoha dies in one, and Sekai dies in two of the four. The fifth ending involves the deaths of both Kotonoha and Sekai.
In the manga adaptation of School Days, Makoto fesses up about his relationship with Sekai, but this leads to Kotonoha attempting to cut Sekai with a saw, believing she tricked Makoto into a relationship. Makoto intervenes at the last second, but is injured by Kotonoha's attack. As he recovers at a hospital, he discovers during a visit from Sekai that she had gone to Kotonoha's house and stabbed her in order to clean the slate and start over again with just herself and Makoto before he had met Kotonoha.
In the anime version, Sekai believes she is pregnant with Makoto's child, but is asked to get an abortion by Makoto. Under the emotional stress induced by Makoto's request, she stabs him with a kitchen knife. Soon after, Kotonoha discovers Makoto's dead body and calls Sekai to the roof of her apartment complex using Makoto's cellphone. After a brief exchange, where Kotonoha shows Sekai the school bag with Makoto's severed head inside, Kotonoha attacks and kills Sekai with a saw then cuts her womb open in search of the fetus. Finding none, she concludes that Sekai was a liar and the ending scene shows Kotonoha on her family yacht clinging to Makoto's severed head.

Sora No Otoshimono

The plot revolves around a boy in the town of Sorami named Tomoki Sakurai who is one day invited by his childhood friend Sohara Mitsuki and Eishirō Sugata (the leader of "The New World" club) to come at midnight to witness a strange object seen crossing through their town's sky. Tomoki goes alone and as the strange object comes close, Sugata calls to warn him to get away from it. What falls from the sky is a creature called an Angeloid named Ikaros.
Ikaros imprints on Tomoki after he rescues her from being destroyed by falling debris. She introduces herself as a "Pet-Class" Angeloid and offers to fulfill any wishes Tomoki may have. In time, she begins to pick up human characteristics from her involvement with Tomoki and more of her past is revealed. We soon discover that Ikaros has left "the Heavens" in disarray, and various Angeloids are sent to retrieve her.

Plot Summary:

A group of assasins are controled by Chronos. They all have a number on their neck. But number 13 which is Black Cat has the characteristics of a cat, because a witch cursed him. He is supposed to kill people but he also hates the thought of killing people.

The world is secretly controlled by a secret organizition, Chronos. Under the command of this mysterious organization, are the Chronos Numbers, a group of powerful assasins, taking orders to eliminate certain target secretly to keep the so-called 'peace'. One of the most powerful is the Number XIII, Train Hartnett, or known as Black Cat. At first he seems to be a cruel killer, a meeting with a girl Sweeper changed him completely. Now as a Sweeper, Train travelled with his partner Sven Volfied to hunt down criminals.

Train Heartnet is known as the Black Cat for his quick reactions to attacks and his title as Number Thirteen as member of the secret society Chronos. He is an unbeatable master gunman, a cold and unfeeling killer until he meets Saya, a bounty hunter, or "sweeper". She teaches him the value of a human life, and that one should live in order to repent for one's mistakes rather than die because of them. Through her, Train learns to love and care for other people as he too becomes a sweeper and travels with his partner Sven and the mysterious girl Eve.

Losing her mother at a young age, Misaki Yoko (Ueto Aya) was raised amongst three brothers. Yoko is a slightly boyish girl who is bullheaded and hates dishonesty. Then one day, one of the members of the band, Tsukasa, gets a job at a bank in Tokyo. On the day Tsukasa leaves for Tokyo, Yoko goes along with the band members to the airport to see him off. The guys get excited when they see some cabin crew ladies and Yoko has no idea why. She reminds them that even she can wear a uniform, but the guys only make fun of her. That’s when Tsukasa tells Yoko he wonders what she’d look like dressed in uniform. This is when Yoko decides she wants to work as a Cabin Attendant.

This drama is about a girl who was diagnosed with a disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration when she was 15 years old, and was able to continue her life until her death at the age of 25 years old.

The plot is based on the true story of a Japanese girl named Kito Aya, who had the same disease. She kept writing in her diary to remember her experiences until she could no longer hold a pen. Aya simply wished to live until the end of her life, and the purpose of writing in the diary was to remind herself to not give up. She shed tears many times, at the same time encompassed by the rich love and support from her family, friends, and boyfriend.

Her diary “1 Litre of Tears” was published after her death, because of its inspiring and courageous message of, “Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing.” So far, over 18,000,000 copies of her diary have been sold.

This series revolves around a group of peculiar detectives in a new division created to fight against an increase in atrocious crimes. Osawa Eriko is a beautiful career woman who has just returned from training in the U.S. and is appointed as the "boss" of this division. But despite her intelligence and capabilities, she can never understand a man's heart, so she remains unable to find a husband. In fact, her assignment in the U.S. was really a demotion after she ruined her career track over a man. So why was she chosen as the boss of the new division? Even though the detectives are talented, they all have some kind of issue or flaw, and they are considered to be the "problem children" of the police force. In the end, the division's true purpose is just to isolate these problematic detectives.

It is the year A.D. 2307. Fossil fuels on Earth have been depleted entirely, with mankind turning to the next available power source: solar energy. During this time, 3 orbital elevators with solar power generation systems are built, each under control by the Union of Solar Energy and Free Nations (formerly United States of America), the Human Reform League (Russia, China and India) and the Advanced European Union. However, not all countries are able to enjoy the benefits of this system, leading to widespread resentment and war. Arising out of the conflict, a mysterious military organization known as Celestial Being appears, dedicated to end all warfare using Mobile Suits called Gundam. Mikan, so depressed about Hotaru leaving, went to the school and found at she was an alice as well. She found at that she had a cancellation alice which can cancel alices. Many students thought she somehow tricked the academy into thinking she was an alice. However, Mikan tries her hardest into proving their wrong, lifting up their hopes to be no. 1 and go see their families,etc. She does the best she can to make them friends and let them have confidence in themselves. And for some reason, she somehow changed the academy's students into becoming friends, and even, admirers. This anime is about friendship, love, selflessness, concern for others, and hope.
